The Game 2.4.08

Yes, I'm only blogging about The Game. That other show deserves no mention.

I'm not sure how I feel about last night's episode of The Game. I really wanted to like it, since it's probably the last new show we'll have for next few weeks, but I was not happy about the behavior of some of the characters.

First up, Melanie. I could literally kick her. Here she is, on a date with a GREAT and CUTE guy (Mechad Brooks is officially my new crush - that's what I get for not watching Desperate Housewives!!) and she's tripping off ol' boy. Just because she has issues with her past relationship doesn't mean that she needs to put all that baggage on Jerome.

Romey-Rome is too good for her (please, send him to me, I know exactly what to do with him!). If she wanted to make a go of a new relationship, she should have never set foot inside the Sabers arena because deep down, all she wanted to do was make Derwin jealous. I think Med School needs a timeout on all guys and dating until she gets her life and priorities in order - school, work, a home of her own. Sure, that doesn't mean she should become a nun, but until she's clear on her feelings, or lack thereof, for Derwin, it's not fair to entertain any new possibilities. It's obvious that she and Derwin have some unresolved issues that need to be addressed.

My second disappointment was Tasha. She needs to drop this ghetto-sista-girl act and be about her business as a professional woman. First of all, Malik is not even her client, yet she's trying to broker deals for him, even when she knows that he's not the right choice. She was so blinded by her determination to win back Malik that she turned her back on her other clients. I'm happy Kelly stood her ground and introduced the Cost Low folks to Jason. He's the perfect choice for them, with his 'roidrage-cheap-Prius-driving behind.

Hightlights of the episode:

Dionne: It's San Diego. If you go on a date it's either a Sabers game or fish sandwiches at Sea World.

Jason: This is Sparta! [I am literally LOLing as I type this from memory. I'd rewatch the episode just to see this part again.]

Keeping my fingers crossed that the strike is indeed close to a resolution so we can find out what goes down with Melanie-Derwin-and oh yes!-Jerome.
