NAACP Awards

Against my better judgment, I watched the 38th Annual NAACP Image Awards last night, but I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone looked nice and nobody acted ignorant. All in all, it was a well-put together show (BET...take note!). LL Cool J was good as a host, mainly because he didn't have much to do. I think his opening monologue was too long-winded and I didn't like him doing the "Jamie Foxx-style shout-outs" from the stage. The pacing of the show was a bit rushed, but I was glad that the special honorees

Bono were given time to say their piece.

And notice how they didn't play the "wrap-up" music when Prince took the stage?
That's right...ya'll better bow down!

Most of the awards were given out during the pre-show, but I was overjoyed to see my girl Tracee Ellis Ross win for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, Girlfriends
