Is Mr. Ecko the new Dr. Burke?

It's been a rough time to be a Black man on primetime TV recently. First, Isaiah Washington went off behind-the-scenes at Grey's Anatomy, and now comes word that Mr. Ecko on Lost was killed off because his portrayer, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, was difficult to work with.

"I've heard speculation that I left Lost because I wasn't happy. Straight up, it was probably one of the best relationships I've ever had, in terms of developing a character," the actor tells the New York Post. Akinnuoye-Agbaje, a Buddhist, says that his acting methods — staying in character and not talking to anyone while on the set, instead passing downtime by reading scripture — could have been misread. "That's just the way I work," he explains.

I'm not so sure, 'Wale. Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros, who were both arrested for drunk driving while filming Lost in Hawaii, saw their characters killed off at the end of last season. Coinkidink? I think not!
